Have fun!! Great city, especially in the summer
Thanks.

I usually go to San Francisco once a year but haven't been to CA since the pandemic of 2020. I think the last time I went LA and SF was in 2019. I hope to put them back on my itinerary later this year.

I like your list. I want to improve my French before going to Quebec City. Over the past few years, I've been able to get by with English only in Montreal (where most French speakers are bilingual French/English). When I go this summer, I will test my knowledge from the French lessons I've had for the past year.

I've been looking at sites that offer guided tours to Barcelona, Madrid, and Lisbon for 2023.

We have a lot of good lakes within twenty miles and can drive out for a weekend any time. Just outside of town we have two different spring-fed abandoned gravel pits with natural sand bottoms and wildlife/plants that are good places to spend a hot summer day.

Our back yard is planted to bloom all season and we have a small bubbling pond. I'll be enjoying trips in the country to view scenery and the changing wildflower scene on my motorcycle. And there are many historic sites in the area to visit.

So Southern Mn is a good place to have a staycation.

We may drive over to WI to visit Door County, a place we haven't been. We'll visit a lavender farm, pick some cherries, enjoy a fish boil and stop on the way at a few small cheese factories and Scandinavian bakeries. Maybe eat a pasty or two.
So lucky!

Hope to visit a friend in Oregon later this year. Just returned from Yosemite National Park and California Gold Country. I actually flew to California rather than driving, my first flight since 2017. Not pleasant but it saved almost a week of driving.

I am still hesitant to travel to large cities or out of the country or on cruises because of COVID for several reasons. Fear of getting seriously ill, becoming moderately ill or contagious during my trip and confined to a hotel room rather than sightseeing, and the larger than normal crowds that are likely. Maybe next year.
On a day trip from Las Vegas, I went to the West rim of the Grand Canyon (revisit) last year, I think it was, and had a wonderful time. It's so amazing!

Newport News, RI? Beautiful place! I haven't been to HI yet but it's on my list.

It's very hot, as in melting as you walk, in both Vegas and New Orleans now through late fall, but if you can handle the heat, enjoy! I was in New Orleans a couple of weeks ago on a work-related trip so didn't get to have fun or sight-see but did get a chance to do a little discount-retail shopping.

Long Memorial Day weekend in Brandywine Valley (DE and PA) and then 8 days in Sweden at the end of August. Excited for both! First time travelling internationally since the pandemic.

Yep, I'll be in Newport, RI! I spent several months there back in 2015, but it was for military training, so didn't get to enjoy it very much. Things will be different this time, so I'm looking forward to it. HI is a place I love, so can't wait to get back.

As for Vegas, thankfully I'd be indoors at the casinos during the worst part of the day for heat, but it's hard to escape in New Orleans (I lived there for several years so I know how brutal it can get there ).

Given past time frames on Covid waves August might be exactly right given it is going up in May.

The last one started climbing in December, peaked in January, and was back down again in February. Spring waves in London and Paris were both didn't peak as high and were going back down within a month.

Japan might make a good summer destination (Strength of USD to Yen)
https://realeconomy.rsmus.com/why-th...%20and%20Japan.
The dollar has appreciated by 11% against the euro since April 2021 and 12% versus the Japanese yen in just the past six weeks.

This most recent burst of dollar strength is most likely because of expectations of a more aggressive U.S. monetary policy relative to the eurozone and Japan.
Looks like there are still some $600 fares USA > Japan for summer.
