The desert. Any desert. Been there, done that. I only think about the desert on a gloomy winter day, like today.
Same here, along with the been there, done that. I'm not really that picky with weather but the worst for me is dry desert weather. I can handle hot and humid as long as it's only summer, cold as long as it's not Siberia cold, but I don't think I could live in a desert climate and be happy. Just all that dry air makes me feel uncomfortable all the time.
Santa Fe, NM; gorgeous area, the best food in the country, great cultural vibe, but beyond my pay scale. Add to this, the rising crime rate, and New Mexico becomes a relocation pass for me.
Internationally: Grand Cayman; the most gorgeous beaches, but beyond unaffordable.
I'm staying put.
Las Vegas. I seriously considered moving there. I'm glad I didn't, for various reasons. LA and SF are nice to visit, but i don't think I'd want to live there. I want a real summer, not temperate climates. I would move to Hawaii in a minute, if I could.
I could never permanently move to Vegas because I love to gamble.
We could and might move back to San Francisco. It was as beautiful as I've ever seen on my last trip in December. We still own our house in the Bay Area and have fairly low property taxes. We don't care about politics and that is about as low on our list as possible on reasons to move. Our lives have not changed one bit regardless of the political lean of the state we live in.
