I am in Canada and I am looking to travel to the Caribbean for my holiday break for two weeks leaving on the 21st of December. I've been doing a lot of searching and so far the best possible price I've been able to come up with is 1325$ US to fly to Saint Vincent & The Grenadines. No major airlines fly there so there is no other choice but to use the smaller caribbean airline LIAT.

Since these guys fly to many destinations in the Caribbean, I just need to get somewhere in the Caribbean so that I can purchase a LIAT flight to get to Saint Vincent.

The best combination I've found so far was going from New York to San Juan, then fly with LIAT to Saint Vincent.

Can an experienced traveler tell me where the best place (website) is to find cheap airfare?
What is the most affordable location to fly to in the Caribbean (Puerto Rico to South) so that I can catch the next flight to Saint Vincent?

Tips / Help?

Thanks

I don't know what city you are flying out of, but whenever I am looking for a flight, these are the places I start:
ITA
Booking buddy
I think San Juan is indeed a Caribbean hub, we flew there when going to the BVI.

If I am going to fly out of the US, it will be from Syracuse, but if I can get a real nice deal, wouldn't mind going to Rochester or Buffalo for that matter. In Canada, I can fly from Montreal, Ottawa or Toronto.

You aren't going to find reasonable air fare to any where in the Caribbean on those dates.
You will more then likely have more choices flying into San Juan but it won't be cheap....it is one of the most expensive times to fly....Thanksgiving week and anywhere around Christmas
