When you arrive at destination. IMMEDIATELY get into the local time zone schedule

When I arrive at destination, no matter the time of the day, I immediately hit bed and fall asleep even before landing on the mattress!

I've never been able to sleep. This time I bought an eye mask, a small pillow (not a travel pillow, but close), and I have ear plugs. I'm also in a window seat, so I won't have people crawling all over me to get up constantly.

I'm not very optimistic, though. At least if I can't sleep, I do have a window seat so I can look out into the dark and enjoy the lights flashing at the end of the wing. Resting seems to be as much as I can do.

I even tried taking Tylenol PM last night - only to have to get up three times during the night. That kind of defeats the purpose, doesn't it? *sigh*
I always sleep while i am traveling

I've never been able to sleep while traveling in an airplane or any other moving vehicle.

If you are tired enough, you can sleep sitting upright, on a jumpseat in an airplane, dressed in a suit. I know, because I have done it. The key, is for either a late flight, or an early flight, you have either worked ALL day, since 5 am, and kept going, until the red eye at 12:00, or for the early flight, you have been up the last 24 hours or longer, working, and playing.

Heh yep... that's what I'm doing at the end of the month..

I'll be up at 5am for work... off at 3:30... then going home to pack and catch a 10pm flight from Seattle to D.C. then on to upstate NY.

I think I'll sleep just fine. This will be my 2nd redeye flight back to the east coast and I slept fine the first trip back in February. I like it because I don't waste a day traveling. If I left at 8am or something I wouldn't be at my destination till late afternoon/early evening after I connect.
