I have noticed that Excalibur Auto has gone to half hour infomericals on the weekend. They are actually done quite nicely, and I give them kudos for that.

I would like to suggest this is not a new idea. This concept has been in place in bigger markets for the past decade+. When I lived in Chicago in the mid 2000's, there were probably 8-12 dealerships using this format. Many more outrageous than Excalibur for sure.

While I credit Excalibur for being aggressive in this approach, I'm not convinced it will pay off. The real success will be when your competitors start doing the same thing.

Full disclosure: I am not employed by any Tri-Cities car dealership, nor in any relationship with such. Just a media watcher.

And they still are going strong, so it must be working. They seem to know their market. I am surprised that nobody else in The Tri has competed with this.

And a fun drinking game might be how often the male host says "guys"....
