Hey everyone, we are from SW, WA, my husband is accepting a position at WSP. We are a family of 5 and I'm a College Student. We are in our mid -thirties. We are looking for places/cities to live as we are new to this area. I have no clue where to start looking. I would like good schools for our children. Thank you!

SW Washington State? Not sure I understand where you are coming from. I have noted that the WSP has been recruiting heavily in recent months, probably a lot of baby boomers are retiring.

If you don't mind a lack of big city amenities, the Tri-Cities are perfect for a younger family. Low cost of living, lots of sunshine, mild winters for E. WA, and a growing community. Homes that cost 500K in the Seattle area are roughly 275-300K in Tri-Cities.

southwest washington, not the seattle area. We live in a town of a 1000 so we have gone without big city amenities. My Husband is Transferring within DOC.
Good neighborhoods in the Walla Walla area? I would love the Tri-Cities but I think the commute is just a bit far -I think I saw that Pasco was about an hour away

Oh, the Department of Corrections. Got it. You said in the OP "WSP", which is short for the Washington State Patrol, which is who I was referring to as heavily recruiting. Pasco is a little less than an hour away, Walla Walla is a nice town though.

sorry...we think of the abbreviations different. As of right now the rent is much higher than our area.
