The Pietros Pizza still looks like a pizza parlor, but it is now Coyote Bob's Casino, part of a large network of legal card game casinos in Washington, that have always been there, but now marketed differently. No slots, as they are only allowed on Native American casinos.

Eatz on Lee is now "New York's Bocca Felice". Tried them and thought they were quite good.

Last few times I drove by this place, it looked closed to me. Sadly, I never had a chance to try them.

I believe they are still in business but have cut back their hours to just 4-8 Tuesday through Saturday.

Thanks for that info. I do tend to eat lunch in Richland, but go home for dinner (Prosser area).

RE: New York Bocca Felice. Apparently, I was wrong. The sign with store hours on the door has been removed, and they do not answer their phone. Peeked in today and it looks like everything has been packed up and moved out except for the furniture. They apparently didn't even make it one year.

Meanwhile, up the street there will be a new 50's themed restaurant in the old Cheese Louise space on the Parkway.

Yeah, I saw something on local TV news about the 50's themed restaurant. I wish them luck. The TV news seemed to suggest it will be sort of a hamburger joint.

What happened to Dupus Boomer's? In Richland, near the fire station on G. Way. They opened and then closed back up roughly a year ago, I didn't get a chance to try them. Any thoughts about a re-open? I read online that the previous owners said they had spent too much setting it up and had essentially run out of money, Yelp reviews were mixed at best. But the location seems to me to be a good one, and the tie to the old production days is kind of cool.

This area is a nice retail space between GW Way and Jadwin. Currently being occupied by Jimmy John's, and Taco Bell. I'm not sure who can occupy the Dupus space, but certainly this location is somewhat prime...perhaps the lease rates are a bit too high, IDK.

New strip mall just up the street just north of the Homewood Suites. Interesting architecture with upstair offices.

CORRECTION: Taco Time, not Taco Bell at the Jadwin/Geo intersection.

Well, Dupus Boomer's location is apparently for sale and has been for some time. Rosy's Diner, which was over on Bradley, just a little to the south and over towards the river, apparently closed in 2016. The Tri, particularly Richland, is a tough market for independents. For whatever reason that I have never really heard a convincing explanation of, though, the Tri sure loves chains.

I may have mentioned this before, but I think the extreme growth the Tri has been in for the past decade has your answer. When a metro gains population, as the Tri has (really for over four decades now), newcomers tend to fall back to their familiar chains. Hopefully, after they settle they will explore local eateries.
