Hi all,

Recently moved up here from Portland, OR. I'm used to looking in the paper and on craigslist for every job opening, but up here it seems like maybe that's not the main source people use for posting job openings?

I've been scouting craigslist.com and the newspaper for jobs, but not much being posted. Any other good places to look? Just looking for p/t retail, food/hospitality, or office jobs.

Thanks!

Raspberry

It might be worthwhile to go visit a few potential employers in person. From time to time Winco grocery near the south end of Richland has small posters up advertising job openings.

The "Thrifty Nickel" I think has some help wanted ads.

Tri-City Herald should have at least some of the openings, although as they say a lot of the best jobs are not advertised.

Good luck. The economy here is better than most.

You might try checking at the state job service office.

Worksource Columbia Basin on Kellog St. in Kennewick.

Craigslist, newspaper are good as well. I recommend checking out company websites for ones you are interested in as well.

Here is the link

https://fortress.wa.gov/esd/worksour...age=Employment

P.S. I got a job today...working for a company that provides administrative help to the DOE. It is permanent; as long as I want it and full time, pay rate is almost 20.00 / hr. They didn't even interview me...picked my resume out of 70 others and said this one is it. She called me this morning. I am heading back to TC Sunday with my SDB to do a "chemistry meeting"...to see if we will get along. So my offer is contingent on if the chemistry is there or not. I think it will be, I'm pretty easy going and like to please others.

That's a huge relief I'm sure. What source did you use to find the job?

It came from the Washington Job Service - Work Source site. I was amazed how many jobs were available on their site! It is GR8 (my son told me GR8 is for kids - so I guess I'm a kid )
