It was the ultimate Hollywood tragedy. It was a televised referendum on race. It was an indictment of the Los Angeles Police Department. And, of course, it was the Trial of the Century.

All the televised media and public attention wasn't enough, he needed a fix, couldn't let it rest and had to write a book titled "If I did it".

Subsequently the Goldman family has the rights to the book as part of their wrongful death settlement. Portions were added and changed in the book as well as the orignal title and cover.

I opened the door and slid into the room, the knife in my hand glistening lightly in the moonlight. At least, I'd assume that I knife would glisten in the moonlight. Having never held a knife at midnight, and certainly not to kill two people, obviously I wouldn't know.

I met a person years later who actually believed that OJ didn't do it. Could hardly believe it as I had always thought of this person as reasonable, intelligent and with enough good sense to see how the defense screwed up what should have been a slam-dunk.

I still can't believe there was so much evidence that never entered the court. I think his confession to Rosie Grier was vital.

I cannot believe it's been 15 years since the verdict came down. Wow!

I watched pretty much every single day of the trial. And when I wasn't near a TV I had a radio with me. (I lived in L.A. We were OBSESSED.) I went from, "It couldn't possibly be O.J." to "Guilty, guilty, guilty!"

BTW the slow speed chase went right past my house. I believe we counted 12 media helicopters off in the distance. Never forget that afternoon. We, like the rest of America, were watching the pursuit on TV and realised "he" was coming our way. We could hear the sirens and the helicopters getting closer and closer. Watched on TV until it was nearly upon us then rushed outside to watch the Bronco go by. All of the neighbors came swarming out of their houses. Sometimes I'll see a clip on TV and there's the roof of my house. Odd.

I think that last quote is a joke...I hope.

Here is a story about the book written in 2007. He most certainly DID write one about it.
The thing is, if you don't have the book in it's entirety, anyone could write an excerpt and claim it was in it.
Apparently, there are black market copies for around $4-500.

Years ago, a fellow worker of mine firmly believed the same , but a few years later he had a series of breakdowns and is now confined to a mental hospital. Quelle surprise!
