If a drug dealer impresses a girl who he really likes by purchasing her a brand new car and gets arrested a month later for drug trafficking would the police also confiscate his lady friend's car since the vehicle was purchased with the money he made from selling drugs and hold her vehicle as evidence? The car is in her name and she isn't involved in any criminal activity, she didn't even know that he was a drug dealer until after his arrest.
The only reason why the drug dealer bought this girl a brand new car is so he could get her to like him more and to appreciate the love and kindness he has for her.
I knew a very nice upper middle class family with a son who had a drug probelm, I quess he started selling to support his own habit. They did confiscate his car, bc it was used to sell drugs.
If the police took your friends bf car too, theres probably good reason, but I can't say for certain.
If they wanted to they could proceed with goig after it but would have to prove it was purchased witrh drug proceeds. they can even go after more than that with proof.
Based upon what I have read in the past...all goods purchased with ill gotton money would be confiscated.....cash put into the city/state coffers after a while on completion of any trial etc.
What the posters above should have asked is, what state? It seems they are giving advice based on watching television shows.
