According to reports, a 17 year old boy is facing charges of attempted murder resulting from a drive-by shooting that occurred last week in a residence in north Spokane. Allegedly, on March 26, Travis W. Wood shot out a front window in a home at 4am in the 500 block of East Maxine Avenue. It
had been reported that a previous shooting had occurred at the same residence on March 2, following the homeowners’ granddaughter filing a police report naming Wood in the alleged theft of her cell phone.
Reportedly, several hours after the incident occurred, police went to an apartment at 202 East Wedgewood Avenue, which belonged to Woods, and served him on a juvenile arrest warrant. According to police, during an examination of the apartment, they recovered a .380 caliber handgun on the
premises in addition to a container of ammunition with 11 bullets missing. It has been reported that the Spokane police obtained a search warrant for a 1991 Chevy Blazer owned by Wood’s mother and discovered a .380 shell casing. Allegedly, another person, Thomas J. Jones, 21, has been charged in
the incident, however, he remains at large.
