I saw the photos last year and wish I had not. There seems to be more evidence of increasing cases.

But is it really that much worse than other IV drugs? I've known plenty of people hospitalized for grody skin infections from heroin and so on. Some people even die of them.

Did you see the pictures? This is much worse than a skin infection.

Snopes says they are real (they are truly horrific) but I have to wonder how someone can hold up their arm and you can see the bone. Wouldn't they be in a hospital bed?

Not necessarily. That type of wound could be treated on an outpatient basis.
