January to May 2016

"For the past six months and almost halfway through 2016, there have been no homicides in Brockton."

At this time last year there were five murders, equaling more than half of the city's total of 9 in 2015."

"Since that day, it's been 24 weeks, or 169 days, since Brockton was last left reeling from a homicide. It is the longest period without a murder since Sept. 11, 2011, through June 8, 2012, a stretch of 271 days.

"Gunfire is also noticeably down and it's something officials say is largely due to the efforts of the local, state and federal law enforcement agencies in the city."

I've heard Tokyo averages around 100 annually, maybe lower, which is very low for a city population that is about the same as NYC.
