Does anyone remember the Jahi Turner case from 2002? Little Jahi went missing after (supposedly) being left by himself at a playground in San Diego while his stepfather went for a soda. Jahi's mother was a sailor, and was away at sea. They had just moved to San Diego, and Jahi's stepdad was supposed to look after him. Jahi's body has never been found, and I remember from 2002 that the police actually never found any evidence that the toddler had been at the playground at all. From the beginning they suspected the stepfather, Tieray Jones, of being responsible for Jahi's disappearance, and he was questioned, but let go for lack of evidence. But now, 14 years later, Jones has been arrested on suspicion of killing Jahi. Apparently they have the evidence they needed, because he is also being charged with child abuse. Jones has waived extradition, and will be returned to San Diego to stand trial.
