Thanks for the areas to look at, if I start looking to find specific complexes I'll start there. As to Portland, I'm not really interested in moving there, if I did go that way I'd most likely land in Seattle as I've lived there before off and on. I notice now that I am less used to rain, back then I swore it was in my blood. XD I'm also currently looking at Denver and Austin as options.

I'm a bit concerned over hearing elsewhere that water rationing might be put into play soon? That seems a bit scary in a hot environment even if it's just me in a small apartment. O.o
You can order your groceries online from Safeway and they'll deliver. The delivery charge varies from free (if you buy certain products) to $12.99. I used them when I broke my ankle last summer as I live in a 2nd floor condo and couldn't do the stairs for ten weeks.

Denver may be a better fit for your needs. It has a fabulous light rail system to the suburbs, but you'd need to find a way to the Park 'n Ride (bus might work) and they have a good RTD bus line in Denver and the suburbs. Denver would be much more convenient for you if you live in the city as the busses and light rail go just about everywhere. Denver's climate is also much more moderate than Tucson, where summers can get into the 100's easily in June and July. I think Safeway will deliver in Denver, or you might check their local Kroger store, King Soopers, who might deliver. They used to back in the 90's. Denver proper is also politically liberal. Our governor, John Hickenlooper was Denver's mayor for a couple of terms, and he's a Dem. Southern Colorado (with the exception of Pueblo and the San Luis Valley) are Rep. (Think military bases, The United States Air Force Academy, Focus on the Family, Ted Haggard and New Life Church, etc....)
