If you had the opportunity to buy a second home for rental today with the potential to live there part-time 10 years from now in semi-retirement with grown kids, would you choose Tucson or Albuquerque? Please look into your crystal ball and tell me the future.

Thanks.

You can't go wrong with either...

I would go with Tucson just because of California. Its too expensive so alot of the educated folk are moving and Tucson was rated by Inc magazine as the top entrepreneurial location in the U.S. That means alot of young folk are opening businesses and creating jobs. Jobs raise property value, Young folks raise property value, diversity raises property value. I just think Tucson is the sleeping giant thats close to awakening....

I would choose Tucson because its really close to Phoenix.Albuquerque is about the same size but your about 450-500 miles from a big urban center.Plus Phoenix and Tucson's metro areas are supposed to combine so the benefits would be much better.Yeah I think you'd be better off with Tucson, but neither would be bad.

We bought a second home in Tucson in 2005.

Not sure if we will retire there or not, but, it is nice to get away from crowed CA!

Depends on your lifestyle. Albuquerque has 4 seasons, lot's of sking, close to many scenic areas and has a better potential for growth than Tucson.
Tucson, an arid area, depends mostly on allocated water, which will be a future problem, Albuquerque does not.

Definitely Tucson, Strongman

Although there is no perfect place to live, without a doubt, Tucson has the best weather overall. Growing but still not too big.

Good Luck

Good Morning, EddieK

Mike introduced me to this site the other day.

. . . definitely superior to "you know where", don't you think?

Sticking to the subject at hand . . .

The "four seasons" are readily available in Tucson with only a short drive while not having to put up with them on a daily basis.

The same applies if a "helter skelter" lifestyle is your pleasure, a quick drive up to Phoenix is always an option.

! ! ! !

Welcome to these forums Eddie. Of course now that Bummer is here, I think we can all say "There goes the neighborhood!"..

To answer the question in this topic, "Tucson or Albuquerque? - 10 years out", if I had the choice, it would definitely be Tucson.
