I don't know if I'll be as far southwest as you. I'm moving to Star Valley, which is off of Valencia a little past the Casino del Sol. I work from home and need high speed internet. Cox does not service that area, so cable's not an option. I'll be going with Quest DSL. I think the only other option for high speed would be Hughes (satellite). That's not an option for me... my company won't allow it for some reason. My parents have it in Maryland (in the woods, too) and they love it. Hope that helps.

Hmm... may have to check into that. I had Comcast back in MD. They were good for internet service. I'll keep my Directv for tv though.

Default What about Satellite Internet service

I should have clarified this. Neither Comcast, Cox nor Qwest DSL are there, yet.

I hear rumors about some local company but I have not been able to find out who they are.

Apparently, the dish people are there.

What are the usual choices when it comes to satellite?

Which of the satellite services do you prefer? Why? How about speed, cost?

Most of all, THANKS for your answers and participation

Like I said before, my parents have Hughes net and are very happy with it. I've used it before, and it seemed comparable to my cable internet. But, I wasn't streaming video or anything like that either.

This article has some technical info about it, as far as pricing, I guess it depends on the company. It seems like there are a lot of rebate offers out there. Satellite Internet access - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
