Our McDonald's in Green Valley was torn down in June 2017. Before it was a McDonald's, it was a bank. The refit of the bank building was never the best configuration for a fast food restaurant. The building was taken down to the ground and the new building has now been built exactly for the purpose of being a McDonald's! The McDonalds in Green Valley is not just a restaurant, it is a big part of social life in the area. The GV McDonald's has been missed and we look forward to the re-opening around 10/23/2017. The Grand Opening will be 11/16/2017 11am.

Ok, just got back from lunch at McDonald's on their first day open since June. The kiosk is not in place yet, they had a sign saying it would be there in early November. They were using folding chairs at some of the tables as the permanent chairs were delayed. There was quite a bit of bench seating around the perimeter of the dining area. Also, the outside seating is not ready yet, but they are working on all these things. The service was really good and the food was delivered quickly and correctly. My food was ready before I got my soda filled at the beverage station. I did have to wait for one couple in front of me for the drink, but that wait was 30 seconds or less. The place was very busy and the customers did not seem to mind the ongoing work, I think they are very happy to have their McDonald's back!

I had 4 piece chicken strip, medium fry and medium diet coke to go, and it was really good! I forgot just how good the fries are! I got my wife a snack size Oreo McFlurry and she said it was really good. If you get a chance, please go by and support your new and improved McDonald's in Green Valley!

I hope they replaced all the surly employees. It was the worst McDonald's I've ever seen. I hope the new one is a vast improvement. Because that's what it'll take to get my business back.

I would suggest giving it another try. The folks they have working the counter are very upbeat and friendly in the 2 times I have been there since they re-opened. In early November, the kiosk will be in place, so at that point you can mostly take 1 on 1 interaction out of the equation if you want to.

From what I have seen so far, the young folks working the counter are doing a great job, especially considering they just opened on the 25th. I also see a lot of management floating around and supporting their staff. Please give it another try and reply here so everyone can hear about your experience. Keep in min that the Grand Opening is not till 11/16 at 11am and some work is still being completed. It looks to me like folks are happy to have their local McDonald's back!

Wow! I've often wondered what GV was like. Maybe I am getting the wrong impression, but it sounds like the biggest thing to happen there in years is a new McDonalds! Kind of makes me think it's kind of boring there?

Getting a new McDonalds in a small town is kind of a big thing. The old McDonalds was in what was previously a bank building for many years. That was taken to the ground back in June and we just got it back on 10/25/2017, so when you have something, then it is taken away, you miss it. We really do love our new and improved McDonalds!

As for Green Valley being boring, in my opinion, boring is not so much about the place, but more the person. I am sure there are people who are bored in the middle of New York City, and others who may live in a very rural setting who are not bored at all, but just to make a short list of things to do in Green Valley

Volunteer, you can be as busy as you want to be with this one activity
We do have a movie theater
There are all kinds of opportunities for walking, hiking and bicycling
If you are a member of GVR (Green Valley Recreation), there are tons of clubs to join and activities available
There are many restaurants for breakfast, lunch or dinners out
Green Valley does have a Performing Arts Center that hosts all kinds of plays and concerts
Just a few miles north of Green Valley is Desert Diamond Casino where you can go to test your luck or attend one of the many concerts and events they have going on there
We have the Fred Whipple Observatory on top of Mount Hopkins in the Santa Rita mountains you can schedule a visit to
We have Madera Canyon just east of Green Valley also in the Santa Rita mountains where you can go to view many species of birds, picnic or take a hike, anything from a walking path to a 4+ hour grind to summit Mount Wrightson which is just short of 9,500 above sea level
We have 200+ year old Spanish Missions to tour, 1 about 25 miles south in Tumacacori, and about 15 miles north which is the San Xavier Del Bac Mission.
Right here is Green Valley we have the Titan Missile Museum
We have an all make and model car club called the Santa Cruz Valley Car Nuts, and we also have the Corvette Outlaws Corvette club
We have a Farmers Market every Wednesday at the shopping center at La Canada and Esperanza where dozens of vendors, maybe as many as a hundred have booths that have things of all kinds for sale
Also on Wednesdays, there is a loosely scheduled car show (except the hottest Summer months) near the CVS pharmacy in the Continental Shopping Center
We have the Pecan factory that you can visit
About 50 or 60 miles away, we have Patagonia State Park where you can rent a boat and spend the day on the lake
We have Tubac about 20 minutes south which has several additional restaurants as well as all kind of shopping opportunities for Mexican décor as well as jewelry and art
We just had the Country Fair White Elephant Parade
If all that is not enough to keep you from being bored, Tucson is only25 to 30 minutes north on I 19

You can be way more busy here than you might want to be. Like I say, I believe boredom is more about the person than the place!

The old McDonald's building was one of the WORST set ups possible, especially the drive-thru. You would call in your order at the drive-thru. The employee at the window would need to prepare the beverage and then walk about 25 feet down a corridor to get your food. In a typical location, the same employee MIGHT take a step or two to get the food.

Personally, I am not a McDonald's person. However, it is a meeting place where people can get together for a cup of coffee that is actually centrally located (as opposed to running out to Posada Java) for a cup of coffee.

The kiosk technology interests me. One of the Mac's in my hometown was recently rebuilt because of road construction. The new building was said to be the first in the country to get kiosk ordering, but it wasn't complete before we headed south. We're not Mac's people either, but I want to visit one and check out what's sure to be the trend in coming years. Good reason to visit GV!!

Since I do go there every few weeks, I would have to say that I am a McDonald's person. They say the Kiosk should be up in early November, so that would be tomorrow or anytime in the next week or so. It is a community meeting place. I see people there using wifi to read their kindles. It is a good place to not be alone. Sometimes it is good to be around people, even if you do not engage in conversation. I am glad McDonalds is back and I wish them success!!!
