I went for a pre-sunrise 34 mile bike ride this morning. At 4:15 am, there was a hot, dry wind out of the east. In some places, the air felt like a warm oven, warmer than any pre-sunrise temperatures that I have felt this summer. Other places, there were pockets of cooler air. After the sun rose at about 6:15 am, I was headed towards home, and was glad to finish the bike ride around 7 am. I'll stay indoors the rest of the day and read a bunch of chapters in my latest e-book.

The morning lows were probably a record for the date and perhaps the month. The morning low at the airport was 83. 86 at the Sonoran Desert Museum.

What a difference a few days makes. I have not turned on the AC the past 2 days, and the pre-sunrise temps have "plummeted" down to around the 65F degree range. I wore a T-shirt under a long sleeve shirt for my early morning bike ride today, and the cool, crisp air felt great. This is still officially summer. I have all the windows open and my apartment inside temp is about 75F, near perfect.

Last week, those couple of cooler days were quite heavenly. Especially the early morning riding my bike in long sleeves! Looking forward to more of that soon.
