Hello! I've been wanting to move away (far, far, far away) from KS since I can remember. And finally, I'm getting to the point in my life where a move is feasible. I've been traveling the last few months just hanging out in places I enjoyed! I originally wanted to move to SoCali. But after a few trips and a little research, I don't think I can afford the lifestyle that I'd want to live there!!

Anyways, I've been an investment/derivatives accountant for around 2.5 years now. This summer I am sitting for the last part of the CMA....and then I'm outta here!! I make around 45K now, but after I get my designation, I would imagine I could expect around 50-65K. Will wages be similar in Tucson? How about housing? Affordable? I've managed to stack up some cash the last year living at home while I was studying....so I'll ahve some money to put down assuming that's an option. What are some other general things I should consider before making the move?

Any advice you could give would be helpful!!

Thanks!!

Matt

Well, you can use cost of living calculators like this one: Cost of living: Compare prices in two cities - CNNMoney.com . Housing here is definitely more affordable than SoCal. About the rest... you're the only one who knows... I guess you should come and hang out.

Good idea on avoiding SoCal. It is way too expensive here and the state is being run into the ground by the politicians.

Tucson in general pays about 10-15 percent less then most major cities.

I would think 60k should do OK there. I'm thinking about moving out there from SoCal area myself.

Sierra should be able to answer any question you may have.
