If you purchased a home after April 8th, 2008, you *may* be eligible for a big tax credit. Don't forget to claim it. I have attached the form.

You may qualify if you are a first time home buyer, OR haven't owned a home in the 3 years prior to April 8th, 2008.

*disclaimer* I am not a tax professional. Check with your tax professional to make sure you are eligible.

Is there any clue if this will be continued for 2009? We actually may buy our first home this year. This would be a huge help if it's continued.

Yes, you have to close prior to July 1, 2009. Ginny, please look into financing too. There are still many programs available if you buy a house that is considered in a rural area. Tubac *should* qualify. Most programs still have 100% financing (with restrictions of course).

YMMV.

Sounds like something Pres. Obama would definitely want to extend into the rest of 2009 and maybe beyond! I'm not sure we'll be ready to meet a July deadline.
