I can't stand driving in this city. There are over a million people here and all we have is an Interstate (I-10) that goes halfway around the city, and a sorry excuse for an expressway called Aviation Highway... Last I checked, an expressway doesn't have stoplights. I know most of the rich people that live in Tucson live North of the Rillito River, and they are the main cause of our city not expanding the way it should, but get real. Our city needs to expand 90% of our roads, and it would make so much sense to have an elevated freeway going down the Rillito River relieving most commuters every day. Tucson, grow some balls and build.

We recently had this discussion. Do a search for a "Crosstown Freeway" thread.

Default E/W Freeway

"Tucson, please grow up, we need a E/W freeway!!!"

When I moved to Phoenix in the 1970's they also only had one freeway through town. I guess they grew up.
