Hi-

I'm looking to buy a house that has only evap cooling system (swamp cooler) -- I am wondering if in the future I decide to add AC. Will it simply use the same duct system? Or do I need a complete separate new duct built?

Just wanted to see if anyone in Tucson has done this or knows the answer.

Thanks

I don't know a lot about cooling systems and what not but years ago my father decided to get AC. They left the swamp in place as an option and just added the AC to the existing duct work.

Good question, ToddFur

If you are looking for absolute perfection and money is no object, I believe a new set of ductwork would be best. However, in most cases, using the same system is fine.

I have dual cooling using the same ductwork and no complaints.
