Spray-painted graffiti battles for dominance up and down Templar Alley, alternating from picket fence to building wall and back.
And, some say, it is not uncommon for the graffiti to keep company with dumped trash spewing down the narrow roadway - at times even blocking passage there. This just feet from a sign that reads "No dumping, $1,000 fine."
Fighting Back Partnership staff members, working with the city of Vallejo, hope that conditions will soon change with the help of a talking, solar-powered camera.
The camera reacts to motion by announcing that you are in a restricted area, and that it is taking your photograph. "The thought was initially to be used for the illegal dumping,

This simple little camera would cut down on Tulsa Crime Rate

Crime in Tulsa is not really all that low. I live in Tulsa. Did you know that the crime index in Tulsa is actually WORSE than that for Chicago??

Also, I was just studying our crime tracker from Oklahoma Latest & Breaking News, Sports, Weather, Entertainment, Business, Jobs, Homes, Cars, and Classified Ads OK | Tulsa World and crime is pretty much spread all over Tulsa with the majority being in the North and along the Arkansas River, even in south Tulsa. There is alot of crime in south Tulsa. It has really gotten worse since the mid 90's when that was considered the "safe" part of town. We are trying to figure out how to get out of Tulsa for good to a safer area.

I lived in Tulsa for 10 years, would move back in a heartbeat! I did not feel unsafe there at all. However, thinking about it there was crime there i saw through those 10 years. We had money stolen out of our car, left it unlocked (probably teenagers), grandmothers car got broken into (glass broke, they stole a few things out of it!). There was a time we waited to come home because of a man walking around our neighborhood with a "high powered rifle." A friends car got stolen, joyride, they left it trashed. When I worked nights,my truck got shot at going down the highway, (pellet gun, teenagers probly). I have seen groups of 20-30 gang members surround a gas station. All of this is first hand experience.
And yes, Tulsa IS segregated. It dates to actual city laws/ codes years ago.
Also, crime doesn't get reported properly, if its in a "good" neighborhood it wont show up on the news, but a stupid dog story will!
All that said, I am not scared to go about my business in Tulsa, and if you stay away from the bad areas you will be fine. I love Tulsa! I want to go back!

Crime in Tulsa is largely of a domestic nature. Really as long as you have some street smarts and keep your nose clean you'll be okay.

But I will say the level of crime there has always been high and don't blame people for taking pause. The meth problem there is shocking (400+ lab seizures just this year!).
