Yep, today. I'm set. I'm betting this will be a big group too.

Also, a friend of mine got a tour via the BOK Center website that was hosted by SMG. Here's what he had to say:

Quote:
I went to the tour this morning. It was great. I'm looking forward to when the place is opened, which they say the target date is September 1st. I can tell you that they have loads to do before they're at that point. I suspect that the schedule is very, very tight right now.

I took loads of photographs. I'm still learning how to use my new camera. I haven't checked to see how well the photos came out yet, but I did exposure bracketing with 3 shots per photo, so I'm hoping that even if there are brightness issues, that a little bit of photoshop will clean things up. I shot at ISO 1600 to deal with the low light conditions.
I wont get to upload to my computer until this evening and then I don't know what fixing they'll take. Once I have all that done though, I'll upload them to my google photo album and I'll post the link so you guys can see.

As far as the tour went, I can tell you that it's going to be very open out in the concourse(s). There is outside light everywhere. While out in the concourses, you can see into the arena. The luxury boxes were interesting. The club area was nice as well. There doesn't appear to be a bad seat in the house.
There's a ramp (walkway) that wraps around the building, that basically gives wheelchair access to every area in the arena. Supposedly, this is one of the few arenas anywhere that have this. It's really a nice place. We're going to love this.

And everyone from OKC will probably tell us how the Ford Center is better because it has more seats. They only have about 1500 more. The thing is, we'd have more, but the designers chose to give more room in the seats, and more leg room (the biggest complaints currently in the Ford Center).
Also, the scoreboard budget was originally about 2.1 million. Williams gave an additional 2 million, and they have one of the best scoreboards in the world. The thing is eight sided. It has plasma displays on all sides. Very, very nice.
This is from a hockey board that I administer for fans of the Tulsa Oilers. I can't wait to see this scoreboard. Eight sides and plasma. That's top of the line stuff right there.

Oh, and here's the link to the photos he took. He posted them a couple of days later.

You can see in this picture one of Pelli's "small details"
Picasa Web Albums - Les - 2008.04.18 - ...

He made them grout the vertical adn horizontal lines differently so you would visually see horizontal lines in the concrete blocks like the horizontal lines elsewhere in the arena.

It's been my experience that Picasa does have slower load times than sites like Flickr.

Not to worry. After May 8th, the money I spent on my Flickr Pro account will be justified. I may need to take two memory cards with me and three sets of batteries.

Maybe us folks from out of state should contribute money for your flickr pro account. Your pics are definitely worth something and are much appreciated.

Not a big deal; 24.95 a year is chump change for me and the arena photos aren't the only ones I upload. There's not any reason you guys should have to do that.

That is a good price. I'm PO'd at flickr though. I can't get back into my old account no matter what I do and there is no support for that. I've tried everything imaginable and nothing. I may have to go pro because the standard version is too limited for me. I see they allow you to upload videos too!
