To a birthday party. Initially thought I'd be driving to Tahlequah, since that's where the birthday girl lives. The invitation said it would be at such and such dance studio which wouldn't be unusual and that's all I notices. Wednesday, I mentioned to someone else who will be there if we were meeting for lunch at the honoree's house and discovered the party is in Tulsa. Yikes! Sure enough, plain as day that's what the invitation says. Why didn't she put it in huge letters flashing in neon colors? Turns out this is a place where the girls can do their nails, put glitter in their hair and have a fashion show. I'll be in the audience.

The party was a big hit. There were about 10 girls, ranging in age from 2 to 10, mostly 7-10 and one boy age 2, who enjoyed it all as much as the girls. Employees of the studio took care of their nails, both fingers and toes. Then the fashion show with some girls becoming timid and others camping it up. The party was for a 7 year old who is in first grade. All those attending are kin, so everyone sees everyone at all the birthday parties.

There are 3 children in the family 2 girls and the 2 year old boy. They are half Cherokee. The boy's face resembles his dad, but his hair is blond. His dad's hair is black. My dad's hair was blond and one of my brothers.

Access to the turnpike is about 3 miles from my house and that road took me within 3 blocks of the party site; however, getting back on it for the return trip required a bit of driving. I know from experience Tulsa isn't generous with signs to give directions. My map told me to get on hwy 51 so that made it easy. Traffic flows at 80 mph. A couple times it was 90 to 95, but I don't like to do that and try not to accelerate past where cruise control is set.

You drove all the way to Tulsa and didn't come see me at the hospital? LOL glad to see you had a good time! :-)

PS: I hope we can do that coffee lunch here before it gets cold.

I passed an off ramp to St Johns... is that where you were? I know people who drive to Tulsa often, but it's a rarity for me. It's probably been 3 years since last time.

There's a couple of things on my list to accomplish before cold weather, so I'll keep us in mind.
