Even before the economy started getting so bad people were going to food banks
and other places looking for help.

Several of these places where people could get food have now run low or run out completely
(how would you like to show up and be told there is nothing for your kids?)

The Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma works to eliminate food insecurity and hunger through education, advocacy and the distribution of food and other essentials

We have the opportunity to make a difference for Eastern Oklahoma--and it
costs you nothing! Just a few minutes time....

Together we can win a truckload of seafood means: $100,000 worth of food.

You never know when you or one of your loved ones will need some help. (It is predicted that it is going to get worse before it gets better.) Please be sure to share this with everyone in NE Oklahoma.

Many of you have expressed interest in the Chicken of the Sea jingle contest and we appreciate it… We’ve heard from employees at places like St. Francis Hospital, Oklahoma Heart Institute, Kaiser-Francis Oil Company, AT&T, Pendergraph, Williams and many more who are helping keep the momentum going!

We wanted to give you an update on the latest news. Yesterday morning, Rachael pulled ahead of the Atlanta Community Food Bank into the number 2 position. Later in the afternoon she pulled ahead of the A2H Coastal Georgia Food Bank into the number one position! We left work feeling pretty confident. Then this morning we discovered that the Atlanta Food Bank took over the number one position, but not for long. As of this moment, Rachael is ahead by 1,412 votes. But it’s going to be a tight race for the next two weeks.

Just a reminder that you can vote three times per day per e-mail address until Dec. 9. Vote for #29 at this site:

A truckload of seafood means: $100,000 worth of food. I can’t begin to tell you how great it would be to offer our agencies a complete protein like this. It’s not something we get very often. I’m sure the hungry in Oklahoma would really appreciate it.

Rachael has been on several radio programs – most recently on KBEZ

A little history as to why Rachael is doing this . . . we found out that at one time she herself was in need of assistance and this is just one way she is giving back to the community: “Thank God for food banks and what they can do for people. I know what it is to be hungry. I know what it is to not have anything. I know what it is to feel helpless and hopeless. I have been there in so many ways”.

If you know anyone at any of the radio and/or television stations or newspapers maybe you could make sure they know about this. Share it at Church, any civic group you are aware of, with your kids and let them share it with their friends. It is a great opportunity for Northeastern Oklahoma!
