that is one of the most absurd things I've heard on this forum. The idea is to attract people to an area and encourage them to enjoy the amenities. One way to NOT do it is by having worn out, run down amenities in areas where they are inconvenient (show me ANY place within a mile of 15th and Yale where you can enjoy a drink or a good dinner). Unfortunately 15th and Yale does not have the historic significance of Cains.....or the ambiance, or the safety.

And remember, if you DON'T build the new stadium, you STILL won't have the money for cops and roads.......the funds are non-transferable.
I went to several Drillers games each year and there was not anything wrong with the stadium itself. It had been updated and remodeled more than once and it was only 30 years old.In matter of fact, it holds more people than the new stadium that was just built downtown for 60 million dollars.
There are a lot of minor league cities that would love to have a stadium as nice as Drillers Stadium yet Tulsa pushes it to the side for a downtown stadium. The only problem with the ballgames sometimes was parking because of other events scheduled at the fairgrounds sometimes and the horse barns took up a lot of the ballpark's parking spaces.

And that was just one of the problems. Too many seats for too few people. Even with a fairly large crowd, there were too many empty seats.....no one plays well to an empty house. Parking was, indeed, a problem......hopefully that will be resolved now. Moreover, the space on 15th and Yale is needed for expansion of the fairgrounds as well. I wonder how long it will take until we get the health department moved.

hey, i'm all for revitalization of tulsa, so long as people have jobs, homes and food, how's all that going? I own property in the up and coming area and i know how they have assessed my property taxes and how citizens are living. The lights are bright and shining downtown and by the rich, but it seems like our hearts are growing dimmer, specially when we bring in people that are not good role models to the bok... Too many names to mention. I've got issues, can you tell?? I love tulsa, i respect government offices, but please don't tell me that everyone from washington down doesn't have their own agenda,,,pleeeeeeease...... Don't tell me that, i have my own agenda, and you have yours, we are on the same planet, aren't we?? And i would like to know who has such a big heart to donate to the downtown area and what was their motive??? Pure heart motive, i'm sure.... They have an agenda, too. I'll stop now, god has the last word on this, watch and see>>>>>>>
