I thought the pilot was pretty good and I will watch it for awhile I suppose unless it takes a turn toward the crappy and then I will drop it . If you have not checked it out I would .
I liked the pilot a lot but it only took until the second episode for a pet peeve of mine to show up--people acting in totally nonsensical ways in order for the plot to move forward (I'll try not to do a total spoiler here, but I do think that most modern day detectives, heck most detectives since the 1930s, have heard of an invention called the telephone).
I'm sorry when did you view episode two ? I don't remember episode 2 airing yet ?
S1.E3 Nighthawks Wed, Jul 06
S1.E2 Jack-in-the-Pulpit Wed, June 29
S1.E1 Arrangement in Grey and Black Wed, June 22
The second episode has already aired and is available for free on CBS.com
I haven't looked at the website in a while, but I was surprised to see that the pilot was not available for free. They must have tightened up the rules for viewing for free so they could sell more All-ACCESS subscriptions. They used to always let you watch the pilot so you understand who the characters are in the show.
I thought this was a terrible, cliched show. I wanted to like it, as the premise sounded interesting. Had trouble making it thru the first episode. Partway thru the second, I realized it was getting worse, not better. Season Pass deleted.
Honestly, who greenlights this shoot? The writing was just second-grade (with apologies to 2nd graders). If you want us to watch network TV in the summer, you have to give us better shows. Zoo, Under The Dome, Extant, American Gothic... this crap won't fly. With cable shows like Game of Thrones, Mr. Robot, Orphan Black, there is too much good TV to waste time on this.
It's better than most CBS shows, though if I never saw it again, I doubt I'd notice. I thought the detective son-in-law purposely went to each place because he expected to get some DNA.
I like it more every week. What were we supposed to look at in the very last scene, after Gunther? It looked like a picture, maybe, but I really couldn't tell.
