In the 90s the 1st American Gothic was simply awesome. What an escape to see that evil Sheriff do anything to anyone played by the underrated Gary Cole.

Based on the name I tried to watch 2016's AG and did not make it past the pilot.

They have nothing in common except the name. Nothing to look for.

I planned to watch it but forgot about it.
Thanks for the reminder and recommendation. I've almost cleared out the DVR of stuff that piled up from last season so will be looking for something to watch.

I watched only the first episode. At the end, when

Spoiler
the mom pinches the comatose dad's oxygen line shut, he dies. But he's only got the prong-type nosepiece in, so wouldn't he have been able to breathe through his mouth and not die?

That's when I knew what kind of show it would be and that I wouldn't have the patience for it.

I recorded the first episode, and didn't get far watching it. I LOVED the 90's show and Gary Cole created something amazing. I have a suggestion. Show the 90's origional. The same could be done with a lot of semirevivals.

I watched the first three episodes OnDemand.
It's like a horrible car crash that you can't help but stop to look at.

Not a single one of the main characters has any redeeming qualities. They aren't even fun to watch being awful.
And yet I almost want to keep watching to see just how low the bar could possibly be set.

I have been watching, waiting for that creepy kid to slice and dice the rest of Carmel. Talk about broken! I am enjoying watching "the haves" being the dregs actually.
