Final thoughts on the first season: I thought that it definitely improved as it progressed. The stories flowed better and Matt Passmore's delivery stopped annoying me. Yes, it is rather old-fashioned and cliched, but, it works, mostly, I think because the characters (actors) seem to have a really good rapport.

And, I have absolutely no issue with Callie's job, school, or anything else. I love her character and I think that the actress who portrays her is terrific. The kid, on the other hand, should go live with grandma.

Not being familiar with Florida, I can't comment on the locations, but I think that is part of the appeal for me. It's atmospheric and exotic and I can enjoy it without actually experiencing the humidity first-hand

Looking forward to the second season.

I agree that the show definitely improved over the course of the season. we really enjoyed it. Loved the cliff-hanging ending with that call from the prison! Hopefully A&E picked it up for another season. We hated how they cancelled Benjamin Bratt's "The cleaner". we really liked that show too!

I enjoyed the show. Jim is attractive, which first got my attention. Callie is irritating. Jim should ditch the married woman with a child, and find a single woman. Lose Callie, and I'll be happy. Keep Callie, and I'll have to reassess.

I like that the show goes outside of Miami, but it seems like all of the locations are within a couple of hours from Miami. They're not. The horse country, and psychic/medium town, and UCF are about 4-6 hours north of Miami.

From the web page

middle-of-nowhere town of Palm Glade, Florida, where the sunshine and golf are plentiful and crime is seemingly at a minimum. But this town outside the Florida Everglades isn’t quite as idyllic as he thought, as he finds people keep turning up

I'd be happy if Callie just changed the way she talks, if he found someone else I wouldn't mind, the character isn't very convincing as written

This past Sunday rolled around and I got to thinking, well, I sure wouldn't mind watching 'The Glades' about now. Kind of sorry I deleted all of the episodes off of the DVR as I watched them.

Bringing up this old thread.

I like the show and Passmore makes it a serio-comedy to me.

Since it's being brought back, I only have one complaint .. There is No beach .. anywhere near Glades!

truthfully, I was surprised when I saw the commercials for the 2nd season. I figured that since we watched it, and kind of liked it, they would cancel it. That seems to be our track record. maybe if we come out on the fence and never admit watching or liking, a show will stay on forever!
