You must be young. HBO was so much better back in the 80s. The movies were current and there was a large selection. The only thing good about HOB now are the original series. That's the only reason I still subscribe. Every time where is a break between series, I always contemplate cancelling. Then HBO announces that a new series season will start in a few months and I keep paying because I'm looking forward to seeing the next eposide of Big Love, Entourage. If there isn't a current season of an original series airing, I won't turn on HBO for months and months.

Remember
THE HBO sign use to spin as it approached the screen.
Im little bit older than the Fragile Rock generation and always hunting what you did with that
HBO Guide that you find now in Motels.
The selection on the upper tiers of HBO is better.

don't have, don't want it and would never pay for it.
Occasionally Direct TV offers it free for a short period of time and I've scanned through the HBO channels; never found one thing I would or wanted to watch.

Anything on HBO can be found online for free.

I cancelled HBO a few months back. No loss. It WAS better in the 80s. Lots more recent movies back then.

I would agree. I got rid of HBO when they were in one of those year or so breaks from the Sopranos. I just got tired of paying for it when all I really watched was Sopranos and Sex in the City with the GF. Have satellite now, unlikely to go back.

I don't watch a lot of TV but practically every show I watch is on either HBO or Showtime. Broadcast network TV is nothing but reality shows (I have never, will never watch), low budget drama and exceedingly immature and inane comedy (Two and a Half Men, The Office, etc.) With the exception of a few shows on FX I can't think of any programs I watch regularly on non premium cable stations.

Exactly. Right now its Hung and Entourage. (really miss the Soprano's)
They always seem to one maybe two shows that will keep me from canceling but I think about it for sure.

There is better options on the Upper Tiers of HBO on digital cable.
Plus you can DVR the good shows and series.
