I've been watching AMC since I got out of high school (a long time ago!) and honestly I don't think I will miss this show. The writing has gotten so bad over the last several years it's an insult to the viewers.
I will miss the actors, like Susan Lucci (Erica) and Tad, and the other ones who had been on the show for a long time. Maybe they can star on thier own reality show "The Unemployed Soap Stars of AMC". Why not, everyone and their brother have reality shows now?
My favorite was always GH but I stopped watching regularly about five years ago. I loved it when the drama was family/business centric.
Obvioulsy they are going to loose millions of viewers (who really wants to watch another cooking show) but they are still going to make more money. These reality/talk shows are so much cheaper to make, less of those pesky actors and actresses to page, less sets to design. You just plop someone down in the same setting day after day, pay them to talk, and pay a few people to film it. While I am sure this is a simplistic explanation, this is why reality tv is invading our shows. I miss TGIF.
The Chew..Chew this! How many health shows can we watch?!
AMC you will be missed. Yes, I was one of those who tuned in every day even when I was working. I worked in a tv repair shop so I was able to get my fix.lol! Au Revoir Erica,Jackson,David,Tad and Jessie.
wow I just hope they dont decide to cancel all the soaps you know ? jeeze you are right whoever mentioned health shows . I love general hospital and the young and the restless I hope they dont decide to do away with those . I hope susan lucci does not stay away from tv too long .
Maybe Susan Lucci and Rosie O'Donnell could do a talk show? That would be a hoot. AMC really did get baaaad a few years ago, I mean, did Ryan EVER get his memory back? Bringing back Jessie and Angie was great though. One Live to Live, in my opinion, has always been good, but over time, I stopped watching that one too for the most part. General Hospital? What happened there? The days of Luke and Laura and Robert and Sean and Tiffany and the Cassadines and Cesar Faison, all those fun exciting storylines. And now, Luke has killed a little kid in a drunk driving accident? Is that correct? Click.

Yeah thats what I gather from my soapnet commercials. I tuned in once to watch and see how they were going to do the storyline. I remembered Liz and Lucky's rape storyline and the compassion shared between the two and wondered if they'd rekindle it. Nope, it was pretty flat. Actually it was pretty awful to watch, sad.
Oh man. I haven't watched any soaps in over 10 years but I watched AMC off and on since it started in 1970 until about 2003. I'd watch on my lunch breaks. Sad that it's leaving.
ABC is still saying this is what the viewers want. Idiots.
