Again, what exactly gives you the authority to judge who is and is not a diehard sports fan?

Honestly I think you're taking all of this a bit too seriously.

Yeah.. I am a diehard sports fan.

However, that doesn't mean I sit around my house all day watching it. I love to read about it more than watch it.

I can afford it, I choose not to. Travel is my passion.. I went to Costa Rica in December, Europe for over two weeks last month and am going to Mexico in December. The money we spent on cable goes to our travel fund.

I get now that the cable companies are saying "we have to raise our prices because the networks are charging more" but if nobody picks up your network then what are you gonna do?

I personally can't stand viacom cause they continually ask for more money so they can provide trash shows like teen mom & love and hip-hop. I wish the cable companies would say "its fine you raised your prices nobody watches your **** anyway"

My son is moving to an apartment, and can't afford Comcast, so , since he'll be smack in the middle of Tucson, is going to get an omni-directional HDTV flat indoor antenna. $60 at Radio Shack and he'll get ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, CW, ION, MeTV, PBS, and others over the air. Avoids Comcast and gets a cheaper alternative. He can always watch cable shows On Demand on his laptop the next day.....

Smart choice. Also, tell him that those channels will be in better resolution OTA than they are over cable.

Default After all these years of cable television.....

do you think you could ever go back to JUST network television? Meaning NO hulu, roku, netflix or any other company or device that gives you access to cable programming.

Could you ever just live with channels 2, 4, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, ---- and 21 (if the weather is just right)? Those are the NYC channels ----- substitute your own local channels.

I've thought about it and I think it would be very difficult to get accustomed to only watching network channels that I barely watch to begin with (other than for local news). Of course, after a while you can get used to anything but I wonder how long it would take to "live" without certain shows that I LOVE.

Hell no! All of the network TV series just seem so lame and inane compared to the cable shows. I've never actually _had_ cable, but I just love so many of the cable series.

No way! I would miss being able to find something good to put on when I have insomnia at 2am. If I only had network channels I'd have to watch infomercials all night.

Actually yes I got rid of cable and got digital antennae. It is surprising how many channels I get and I am enjoying the different programming. 3 months now.

Don't intend to go back to cable or satellite.

Do have a DVD for my favorite movies when I am in a mood for some Indiana Jones or something.

Find I read more or work around the house while I listen to music.
