Killing Lincoln will be on NatGeo Sunday night. Bill O'Reilly's book was riveting, hope the movie is just as good.

Ooooooh, thank you for posting this!!!! I had no idea it was on and I have set our DVR to record it. I read the book a few months ago, and I did pick up a few details there that I had not read anywhere before. I devour absolutely anything about Lincoln and I think he was probably one of our finest presidents to date. We live here in Illinois and I am dying to go down to Springfield to visit the Lincoln Tomb, and see some of the places that he frequented when he lived in the state (I am not originally from Illinois - transplanted from Ohio and there is a LOT I haven't seen yet!). Books are generally better than movies, but I try to keep an open mind. There is a lot of good material out there. I am waiting for the latest Lincoln movie to hit the small screen, too.

I didn't read the book due to this:

Bill O

I watched the program on Nat Geo last night; I thought it was OK, nothing riveting or spectacular.

I agree with BigD. It didn't show you anything that you haven't seen and I swear I watched these same actors portraying this before.

I started to watch it but lost interest as it progressed very slowly. Maybe I'll record it and wait for a time when my patience is more willing.

The wife and I watched. After seeing the recent movie on the big screen it was refreshing to see a different angle. Sometimes I wonder how things would have been different had he lived?

It was the highest rated show ever on NatGeo, and they're going to make Killing Kennedy into the same type of movie on NatGeo.

I've been reading Doris Kearns Goodwin's "Team of Rivals". The last couple of chapters were the basis for the movie "Lincoln". It is excellent, IMHO. Killing Lincoln was really a letdown after "Team of Rivals" and "Lincoln" as there was nothing new in it.
