Yes, time once again to binge-drink hot white chocolate while binge-watching made-for-TV cheapies starring little-known American actors, littler-known Canadian actors plus an older actor or two for substance. Everyone is dressed like a Sears catalog model would dress if Sears still had catalogs. For movies set in winter, notice how many outdoor scenes are shot without visible breath vapors! As substantial and memorable as a made-in-China Christmas ornament. "C'mon get happeeeee...."!
Already?
This is the only time of year I watch television and specifically for all the cheesy romantic Christmas movies.
Shoot, we will have to watch them on DVD this year, we had satellite television turned off.
And look at the cast of these movies. How many names do you recognize? To be honest, I have heard of only a small number of them, mostly the veterans from the times when only three networks ruled the roost.

Leaving aside the classics that star the likes of Cary Grant, Miss Barbara Stanwick, Fred Astaire, Bing Crosby... I actually recognize quite a few of the actors/actresses.
Right now, I'm watching "The Thanksgiving House" starring Emily Rose ("Haven"), Lindsay Wagner and Bruce Boxleitner.
Watched one the other day with Harry Connick, Jr. that also starred Connie Britten ("Nashville"), Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson... He was also in one with Renee Zellweger.
Brandon Routh "(Superman Returns," "Chuck," "Arrow") stars in one tonight.
I've seen people from "Firefly," "Charmed," "(new) Battlestar Galactica" and many other series.
Also Broadway stars like Kristen Chenoweth, who was, of course, also on "Glee."
These productions employ a LOT of people, much like the movie of the week back in the day.
It's a good thing.
One of the movies, The Christmas Spirit, was filmed here in Lebanon Ohio in October 2013. Temps in the upper 70s and the cast bundled up in winter clothes. Airing on November 17 at 10 PM.
starting the day after Halloween was too early, IMO. Get burned out on them by Dec 1. I think they could have left on their regular programming during the day and run these movies at night and on the weekends, I think that would have worked better. Then the two weeks before Christmas, go all out 24/7.
Anyone remember "Mean Streets" ? Remember the scene where Harvey Keitel held his hand over the flame seeing how much pain he could take, saying 'You pay for your sins on the streets, not in church."?
Well, this year I've challenged myself to make it through all 12 of this seasons Hallmark movies.
The old "Single Santa seeks Mrs. Claus" was a decent warm-up. HANGIN' WITH THE GUTE!
I dvr'd Cookie Cutter Christmas. Let the pain begin.
