US 24 hour news channels have to do things to keep's one's attention on their channel. The more the viewer watches, the better their ratings, the more the money.
Okay, that's "logical" if rather sad.
But what about BBC? Since that comes from a licenced system and not one dependent on commercials, where's their logic in focusing on the major story of the time with endless speculation? Why not cover what else is going on in the world which might be a little bit more accurate, a little bit more to the point?
