I'd love to see him get a shot! If they have a little 'tourney' of guest hosts I hope someone thinks of him. He's a really bright guy and his sense of humor would serve him well.

I like Ken Jennings. He's certainly knowledgeable enough. That's one thing Alex had, a love for knowledge. I just hope they don't put someone like a Steve Harvey as host.
Austin the bartender might be more entertaining to me, but see the Boaty McBoatface comment above. Alex was professional in the way newscasters used to be once upon a time, and if they want to follow that model, Ken Jennings is a reasonable try. We'll just have to see how it goes. I don't envy anyone trying to fill those shoes.
Jennings, Holzhauer, and Rutter are all signed to do a game show on ABC called "The Chase." Will that prevent Jennings from being the permanent host?
Other names being tossed about:
Anderson Cooper
George Stephanopolous
John King
Alex Faust
Laura Coates.
No to all of the above
