I thought that David Hyde Pierce would be a good replacement when I saw him on Jeopardy and I think I mentioned it somewhere in this thread at the time.

Other names being tossed about:
Anderson Cooper

Alex Faust Laura Coates.
I have no idea who those last three are, but Anderson Cooper or George Stephanopolous aren't the "brainy with humor" type that Alex was. I agree with the poster who said they don't envy anyone taking over for Alex. I can't imagine how tough that will be on the new host, or how critical the audience will be. If David Muir didn't already have a multi-million dollar gig, he'd be a good choice. Plus, like Alex, he's easy on the eyes.

Okay, I Googled them. A newscaster, a sportscaster and a legal analyst. No, no and no. I think the host is going to have to be a lot like Alex so people will accept him ~~ yes him, not a her because a her doesn't seem to fit the Jeopardy model. Not trying to be misogynist, I don't think a drastic change in hosting would be a good move. Like I said, I think the host will have to be someone like Alex, otherwise the fans may revolt.
I agree - I like Steve Harvey but he has become oversaturated. I would rather see James Holhazer (spelling) than Ken Jennings.
Steve Harvey is obsessed with sex as at last 1/2 the questions on Family Feud are sexual in nature.
