Twilight Zone. Honeymooners. Leave it to Beaver. Andy Griffith. A few others of these eras.

^This, though of course there are exceptions...

I might get interested in a series while it's in its final season, for instance-
so I'll bingewatch the preceding seasons, then have to wait week-to-week for the current season's episodes.

At the moment, I'm watching "Deadwood" (started it about a week ago), am near the end of third & final season.
I was reluctant at first, but it really grew on me (have become temporarily immune to the salty language, taken in context).

Burn Notice

I paid no attention to it at all when it originally ran.
Earlier this year, I decided to give it a go on Netflix and then binge-watched all 7 seasons.
It's not high-concept TV and the plot lines are full of holes but it's darn fun to watch.
Sharon Gless scooped up a handful of supporting-actress award nominations.

I also watched BN after it aired. Did you notice the huge change of Gless' appearance between the pilot and the 2nd epi? It looked like she was 10 years older. Did it take that long to get a network to schedule it?

I still haven't watched Season 7 cuz I don't think I want to see Madeline die. Was it heartbreaking?

I missed that transistion, I'll have to go back and watch those 1st 2 episodes again.
You probably should have spoiler-fonted that about the ending, I did when I quoted you.
But have no fear in watching it, she did it her way! I actually cheered.

Firefly.

More often, I don't start a series until the third or fourth season, if it lasts that long. Then if it grips me, I'll have to Netflix it to catch up.
