FWIW--talked to friend of mine whose husband--in60s so older than Kevin--had knee replacement...not such good patient...didnt really want to work thru the pain
The rehap person told him that your body loves opioids so much that it will grow MORE pain receptors/nerve clusters at healing sitrs to creat more pain and demand pain relief via more opioids...vs healing
Maybe worse in some people for some reason
Like some people scar more easily
My husband just had some of his meniscus removed and was told it's an 8 week recovery. He is 6 weeks post op and still has good days and bad days.
He watched Kevin's surgery episode and the episode after that with me. When he started saying that Kevin is pushing it too hard, I turned to him and said...just like you dear. It was a bit of a wake up for him.
Also, he was guzzling down that terrible wine in front of everyone. Surely, someone would have noticed that behavior.
If current high school students were invited to attend this event, I don't understand how wine would be included in the refreshments.
Totally agree. The doctor and the other woman just looked at him and were like "Meh, whatever". The doctor should have recognized all the signs but instead was more interested in hooking up.
I didn't think it was possible, but I like Kevin even less after this episode.
Not a big Kevin fan either. I wouldn't call him a narcissist but he is incredibly self centered/absorbed/obsessed.
The whole show for me is not nearly as compelling as season one. My wife, I think, is enjoying season two more than I am.

This is why that ending this week was like a bucket of cold water on him. Yes, there are other people in the world with bigger problems than you.

I disagree. His current problem is bigger than Kate's. The medical portion of her situation is over, now she has the emotional pain (which I'm not discounting). But Kevin is in a crisis situation and is willing to get help. He should be the priority right now. In fact, I think this is the crux of his existence, he's never been the priority. If the writers make him step back in order to baby Kate, that's messed up.
Now that you mention it, yeah that would be a problem. No HS event ever has liquor served. Ever. (Well, above the table, that is)
I'll add that to the list of things we need to overlook to enjoy the show.
We had our high school reunion last year during homecoming. Liquor was served! The scene made me giggle a bit because the wine was gross and I chugged it.
