Looking to buy a couple DVDs - shows I can watch over again without having to concentrate too much - you know - the kind you can put on and still play on city data at the same time?

Light - happy - feel good types
The type that make you smile - feel hopeful - dream

Sick of these shows that make you cry, feel guilty, hopeless, fearful or just require way too much involvement and attention

Suggestions please ?

Are you talking about movies or TV series? Or open to both?

I can watch Golden Girls over and over, and still enjoy most episodes. You might shed a tear or two over the course of a season, but generally they are just heart-warming and funny. Another, more modern show about a group of women living together is Hot in Cleveland. Both shows have terrific casts; Betty White appears in both. The writing is probably sharper in Golden Girls.

Even older, how about the Mary Tyler Moore Show? Murder She Wrote, with Angela Lansbury, is another possibility.

Do you have Amazon Prime or Netflix? Lots of free shows available; you don't have to buy the DVD but shows do come and go on those venues.

Curb Your Enthusiasm is a good one I enjoy.

Golden Girls like the other poster said, it always makes me laugh and nearly 30 years after (is it that long already?) still funny.

I Love Lucy

Frasier (except when Niles has heart problems)

Everyone Loves Raymond

I highly recommend Heartland!!! There are 10 seasons and it's such a beautiful, warm family show. It's got great characters, amazing scenery and HORSES!

One of the best shows I've seen in years.

If I'm looking for something that I can put on and multitask, I need something that I don't need to follow dialogue closely. Like HGTV type shows or Say Yes to the Dress.
