I saw All About Eve on TCM last week, didn't realize that MM was in it too.

"Some like it Hot" with Jack Lemmon, and Tony Curtiss. One of the funniest movies ever. I was never a big Marilyn fan, but there is certainly something special about her.

Gentlemen Prefer Blonds
Some Like It Hot
Bus Stop
- although her performance as the anguished Cherry is so good that I have never watched it a second time.
The Misfits - again, her performance (and that of Clift and Cable) is so good and the story is so sad that I cannot rewatch it.

I think it's strange that TCM isn't including GPB in the MM lineup tomorrow--I would much rather see it in place of The Seven Year Itch. However, I am happy to see that they are including some of the lesser known of her films.

I absolutely love it! Have been a fan for over 20 years. I own these movies, but yet am watching Niagara right now. Maybe they are doing a week showing since her death was August 5th.

TCM is having a "one actor all day" festival all through the month of August. For whatever reason, it started with Marilyn today. We own The River of No Return on DVD and I must have watched it 10-12 times, but even so, I sat through it--I love the theme song. Waileree! (Whatever it means! ) A few years ago we were traveling up through Idaho along the real River of No Return, the Salmon River, and we brought the DVD along and played it in our hotel room in Riggins next to the river. Most of the river scenes were filmed near Banff, though.
