Do you know how people watch locaal channels LIVE these days since locast has been discontinued?
First, go to this website and see what OTA channels are available in your zip code.
https://www.fcc.gov/media/engineering/dtvmaps

If you have a high number of channels in the green, purchase an antenna something like this:

https://www.amazon.com/Upgraded-1byo...s%2C367&sr=8-3

They plug into the coax port where your cable connection used to go. We get tons of free over the air channels besides the major networks.

Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow. Its a 2004 film made to look like it was made in the 50's in black and white and then colorized. Space monsters are 50's style robots. Special effects are clever but made to look like 50's special effects.

If you like science fiction and space alien invasions, you might like, but it was too contrived for me. I will confess, I watched the whole thing, though. I don't think it is bad by any means, just not my cup of tea. Probably an excellent film for people who like that sort of thing.

We just watched The Northman last night - it was pretty good, but my son thought it was one of the best movies he's seen in a while.

Loved Willem Dafoe in it - as expected - and that Skarsgard fellow. Didn't care for Nicole Kidman much, her face looks Uncanny Valley. But she actually did pretty well in her portrayal of Gudrun.

Interesting that she and Skarsgard played husband and wife in series on HBO I think several years ago and she was his mother in this one…

Well, looks like I have to return the antenna. Something's not working.

Anyone else know how to get live local channels WITHOUT using an antenna please?

Did you change the TV input to the cable/antenna setting? The only other way I know of is to subscribe to Hulu. Perhaps others will weigh in. https://www.dailydot.com/upstream/se...ocal-channels/

Check the SOURCE input on your tv remote—not the cable remote and do like the poster said—switch to the Antenna/tv source
And then you have to let your tv search for all the channels OTA it can receive—it cycles 1 to 100 probably
And then will return to the lowest channel it can receive

You won’t have a channel guide—you should probably program some channels are FAVORITES if the remote has an option for that

If you do that and you still get no channels
1–your house may have lot of barriers to receiving the OTA waves INSIDE where your antenna is
2–you might have to move the antenna to better reception point which means harder to connect antenna to your tv
3–you might need to put antenna in the attic like someone posted and try to hook it up to the wiring the cable company used
They wont pull it out when you cut off service—just have you send the hub and satellite boxes to them

I think Hulu and YouTube give access to local channels if you subscribe
Our daughter ditched cable and took Hulu w/Disney+/ESPN and they get HBO or showtime through their phone provider as incentive

This is one article reviewing different tv streaming w/local channels
Prices will have changed
https://www.frugallivingnw.com/how-to-ditch-cable/
Here’s another more recent
https://www.frugallivingnw.com/how-to-ditch-cable/

And I get newsletter once week from cordcutterweekly.com
That updates changes in streaming services and explains how to drop cable and go streaming
