Something I don't quite get about the two shows...
  • Masterchef Prize money has been $100K for most seasons.
  • Hell's Kitchen Prize Money has been $250K and a job.
  • The contestants on Masterchef are mostly talented amateurs who make incredible dishes.
  • The contestants on Hell's Kitchen don't really seem that talented to me (I could be wrong), it seems that they have a limited menu that is repeated weekly - season after season and screw them up a good percentage of the time.

Why are those who have a hard time completing wrote menus; who can almost never get along with each other; who seem to make meals that are only so-so "paid" far more than those amateurs who seem to blow away the judges and also do "OK" in line work challenges when they are NOT professionals.

What am I missing? Is Ramsay just playing with the audience viewers?

Different production companies. Neither show is taking the other into consideration when determining their prize package.

Excellent point. Thanks.

I had to look that up, I'd thought they were both "One Potato, Two Potato."
