At 45 minutes into Manifest I turned the channel to MNF. Too many commercials and not enough story, at least so far.

I thought it was a decent start. Story moved along, a little mystery, a little "numbers" (828), some supernatural. It certainly earned a second episode.

Commercials? Get a TiVo.

I agree it was a good pilot episode. I admit to wondering, about 2/3 of the way through, if the series was going to end up being somewhat uninteresting. To be honest, I got bored with the ""set them free" storyline -- I thought it was too much drama and too little info, but maybe it will be addressed in greater depth later in the season. The ending was spectacular (in my opinion) and indicated that everyone on the plane is apparently affected like the main characters are. So far, I'm hooked, mainly because of tonight's ending.

I never watched "Lost" -- but I did see a few episodes of "The 4400" about 10 years ago. In that show 4,400 people who had been abducted by aliens over a period of years all showed up again. None of them had aged and all of them had supernatural powers. I understand that it was canceled after a few seasons and a lot of storylines were left hanging.

And, of course, I also watched "The Returned". It started out so well but it soon went in many different directions without addressing the preceding situations. It was as though there were different writers for every episode and none of them had any idea about continuity. I think it lasted only one season. Although a second season was promised, it never happened.

I chose to watch The Good Doctor instead. I will catch Manifest on my tablet tomorrow or the next day. I will take TFW's opinion about the pilot.

Remember, you may get bored partway through the episode -- but I think the ending is worth it all.

I saw this. It was decent... I kinda wished it was a 2 hour premiere just so we got to know the characters a litle better before they got on the plane... but other than that it did enough to make me turn in next week.

I enjoyed it! My concern is with series like these is the mystery ends up getting drawn out into something ridiculous. Looking forward to next week.
