Max Headroom (formally two seasons but really only one split by the summer break.)
Carnivále (formally two seasons but only completed Book One of intended Three.)
Both losses on a greater level than just a TV show.
In 2000, the then WB network had two new sit-coms back to back. One was "Action" starring Jay Mohr and Illeana Douglas where Mohr was a morally bankrupt movie director and Douglas was a prostitute hired to be his assistant. It was a total send up of Hollywood and every episode was hilarious. The other was "Grosse Pointe" which was a show within a show, about the cast of a fictional TV soap called Grosse Pointe, which was a send up of all the Beverly Hills 90210 type soaps.
They were both cancelled after half a season, I suppose because no one was watching the WB in those days. Real shame, both series were great.
