I'm not sure why this is suddenly news (being reported everywhere). It was said at the end of the season that they wouldnt be back in the spring. It is being tied to Bobby Bones winning but they made the announcement like the night he won or the morning after. Way too soon to make a correlation

Just confirming I didnt make it up

If you thought the “Athletes” season and a one-night finale were huge “Dancing with the Stars” curveballs this year, gird yourself for this bombshell: There might not be a spring season in 2019.

Responding to a fan on Twitter asking if the show will return in the spring on Sunday, Tom Bergeron tweeted, “Doubt it.” When another fan asked for clarification if that means “Dancing” won’t return until next fall or if it’s canceled, Bergeron wrote, “ABC has authorized us to say, ‘See you next year’ [on Monday’s finale] but exactly when is, as yet, undetermined.”
While that isnt an "official" word it sure makes it sound like ABC had already planned a break

Show sucks without Derek Hough. The new sweet Len in nowhere as good as the old grumpy Len. He is done with the British version. Show is tired and has run its course.

Same here. If Tom announced it on the last episode, I didnt hear it. DWTS is my favorite show, except for some NatGeoWild episodes and Weather Channel specials.

I know I won't be watching, whenever it comes back. I stopped watching about five years ago....was just tired of the same formula year after year....even the bad dancers end up getting ridiculously high scores towards the end because the judges want it to appear as if they've improved. But I caved this year because I knew Grocery Store Joe from the Bachelor and thought he was adorable. I was really enjoying it....lots of really good dancers and only a few really bad ones. And unfortunately, one of the worst won. They used to have one last vote in which only the judges' scores counted, but noooo, not this year. This year, the audience got to vote right up to the end...but only in half the country, and probably that half was the one where Bobby Bones' popularity is stronger. Oh, and what really took any vestige of credibility from the judges is when they gave him 10s on his final dance! A guy who was just as bad at the end as he had been in the beginning.

So it was a farce, and the bottom line is I'm not going to be emotionally invested in this crap anymore.

LOL. You've been posting in the DWTS threads every year. I'm betting we'll see you posting in the Fall 2019 thread too.

That's interesting, since I haven't watched it since 2015. You must have me confused with someone else.

Default Dancing With the Stars 2019

Quote:
At this year’s winter TCA press conference, ABC boss Karey Burke confirmed Dancing with the Stars will debut its 28th season this coming fall. However, it’s still unclear if the show will air a spring season:

[The DWTS team is] coming in soon to talk… about their plans for the fall, and we’ll discuss it then.”

I hadn't heard it, either.

I figured this thread was going to be about the spring lineup of stars--and I was fully prepared to carp (again) about "B 'stars'," and how I recognized only a few names.

I guess not.
