"Snowpiercer", starring Jennifer Connelly and Daveed Diggs, premiered Sunday the 17th, and it's pretty good.

Reviews say it's no where near the South Korean or French versions, but having not seen those, I was drawn into it. There was already a twist or two that are important, and it kept my attention. I'll keep watching it as it hooked me.

Here's some information on the show:

I was wondering how they could possibly stretch such a small story into an entire series, but the first episode was pretty good. I'll go ahead and watch to see how it goes; or at least I'll watch until they run out of story but insist upon continuing. Even a huge train is capable of jumping the shark.

So far, writing and casting are better than standard for TV shows. Special effects are really good for TV. It's worth taking a look for those of you who missed it.

I really enjoyed it too, but Diggs is a stage actor and needs to learn to tone down the ahckting for tv.

Dumb premise for a movie. I don't understand how it made it to TV.

I also thought it was a pretty good first episode.

I can't help but think the plot line will be very linear...

I watched the movie last night. Entertaining. That is the best I can say for it.

Does the series continue from the movie (can see how it could since the train is totally destroyed and just about everyone is dead)?

Other than the fact they are both based on the same story, the movie and the TV series are unrelated to each other.

They are both independent versions of the book.
