It came in my morning email today, even though I'd previously received the same link you used in your OP. Just a reminder of what's coming up lest anyone forget.

I hope it is better than Van der Valk.

I guess its safe to say none of us liked Van Der Valk. Perhaps he found an audience somewhere. Hopefully one of the upcoming programs from Masterpiece, will bring all of us some enjoyment.

I hope so! We deserve it after enduring VdV.

Evidently there was an earlier version of Van der Valk with different cast members. It ran from 1972 to 1992. It seems to have been much better received than the version we just saw. Might be interesting to dig it up one day when I run out of anything else to watch.

I think I will also try to find the earlier version of Van Der Valk. I don't see how anything can be worse, than what we have seen with the current version. Although I watched a few episodes of the original Poldark from the 70s. In fact that old version is on a Daytona Beach PBS station now. I don't watch it. It is beyond terrible compared to the new version with Aidan Turner, that finished on Masterpiece this past year.

I am looking forward to Endeavour, even if Shaun Evans is to Morse what Van Der Valk is to an attractive human male. The supporting cast and storylines on Endeavour make it watchable.
I didn't like Endeavour at first, then I started to enjoy it. I seem to go up and down with some of the Programs. Some do take me awhile to warm up to.

I just had to do it. I watched a few clips of the original Poldark. OMG, I see your point. And it's not just because I'd watch Aidan Turner in just about anything. It is just awful! I need to go and watch something truly well done now so I can purge my brain. I now trust your judgement implicitly!
